The collection of AOYAGI Masaji, a successful business man, is housed at the museum. The collection includes ancient oriental precious art works from Japan and overseas. Exhibits, such as ukiyoe, brush painting, pottery and porcelain ware, metal works, lacquered ware, wood carving, writing, as well as Buddhist images, are well known throughout Japan. In particular, the collection of Edo potter NONOMURA Ninsei's ceramic works is the finest in Japan. NONOMURA'S style is well known for its graceful overglazed enamel decoration.

Toyama Pottery Museum 50 Anyobo, Toyama-city, Toyama Pref., 933-0881 0764-33-8610
This museum was established in 1981. The facility itself is an old-style Japanese farmer's house that was moved from the local countryside. The collection includes 482 pieces of folk pottery that were used as daily life utensils during the Muromachi to modern era.
