The collection of IKEDA Daisaku, the CEO of SGI International, is exhibited. The collection includes fine art by KOETSU and YOKOYAMA Taikan, as well as oriental ceramics, lacquer ware, and copper wares are exhibited. The museum was established in 1975.

This museum was established in 1971 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Hamamatsu-city foundation. The collection includes oriental ceramics and glass works, as well as local painters' works and western glass works.

A collection comprising items that were once owned by the TOKUGAWA Shogunate family and ODA Nobunaga. This historical collection includes brush paintings, tea articles and paintings by YOSANO Buson, WATANABE Kazan among others.

IZUKOUGEN MUSEUM OF ART 1101 Futomizukuchi, Ito-city, Shizuoka Pref., 413-0231 0557-51-3777
This is a theme museum devoted to precious art works made during the Momoyama and Edo periods. Tea ceremony utensils, some of them designated as national treasures, ritual paintings, as well as original literature of the "Tokaido Line," are exhibited. The Tokaido line can be translated as the "Tokai road between Tokyo and Kyoto." The Tokaido road is well known as the theme of HIROSHIGE'S famous "Tokaido gojyu santsugi" or 'Fifty-three stations of the Tokaido road' series of woodblock prints. HIROSHIGE'S prints picture a scene of each post town on the Tokai road in the Edo period. The park at the museum is also worth a visit.

The fabulous collection of the late OKADA Mokichi, which includes a Japanese folding screen by OGATA Korin(a national treasure), pottery by NONOMURA Ninsei, as well as other fine arts, are on display in the spectacular building. Other forms of art work include arts and crafts from China are as well as a Monet and a Rembrandt. There is an opulent recreated golden tearoom which was originally made by war lord-art patron TOYOTOMI Hideyoshi during Azuchi Momoyama Period. Visitors cannot enter the tea room but it is worth a visit.

The collection of the late Living National Treasure SERIZAWA Keisuke, who was a pioneer in dyeing, is exhibited here. The collection includes Serizawa's colorful works along with precious ceramics wares, weaving, glass wares, furniture, and folk crafts from around the world. The building itself is made of stone and has a very unusual ambience. Serizawa's dyeing process is shown on video.

The oriental art collection of the late SANO Ryuichi is exhibited. The collection includes Buddhist images made during Heian period, pottery and porcelain, swords, and old Japanese paintings. Some of them have been designated as Important Cultural Assets as well as National Assets.

About 200 pieces of ceramic works and brush paintings by KITA Kazuaki, is exhibited. KITA Kazuaki's works are especially appreciated in China and North America. This museum was established in June, 1998.

About 2,000 pieces of pottery and porcelain, copper ware, lacquer ware, as well as 'Bonsai', Japanese style potted plants, are exhibited. Especially Chinese pottery and porcelain from the ancient to Modern age, such as Celadon and master pieces of Chinese ancient kilns are worth to see. this museum was established in December, 1991.
