The Idemitsu collection is well known as one having outstanding ancient Japanese and Chinese art works. Brush painting, pottery and porcelain, bronze ware, lacquer, tea ceremony utensils, as well as American art, are exhibited. The collection is shown by rotation and is changed five to six times a year.

Museum of Oriental Ceramics, Osaka

This museum consists of the collections of twenty one subsidiaries of the Sumitomo Group; a truly splendid gathering of oriental pottery and porcelain. The architecture was designed to be in harmony with the landscape of Nakanoshima park. The space design, such as the varying heights of ceilings along with the lighting on the display cases, contributes to effectively promote the works' beauty .

JAPAN FOLK CRAFTS MUSEUM, OSAKA

Located at the Osaka Expo park, this sister museum of the Tokyo Folk Crafts Museum exhibits pottery and porcelain, lacquer ware, dyeing, and other folk art. Visitors can also find literature and books related to folk art as well as folk craft goods at the souvenir shop.

Senboku Archeological Center

Sue ware is a high-fired gray bodied ware fired from the 5th to 12th centuries. This museum focuses on the archaeology and literature of Sue ware which was found at the Senboku ruins. The Senboku region is well known as the ancient hometown of pottery.

Japan Folk Art Museum, Osaka

Folk art from all over Japan is exhibited here. Visitors can see old Tamba, Seto, Tsuboya, Onda, and Koishibara wares. Other displays include Satsuma pottery and porcelain, lacquer ware, dyeing and glass ware from various regions in Japan.

FUJITA MUSEUM OF ART

The collection of the FUJITA family, including ancient oriental paintings, sculpture, brush paintings, pottery and porcelain, lacquer ware, dyeing, and tea bowls, are exhibited. The collection of tea ceremony utensils is especially well-known and priceless.

YUKI MUSEUM OF ART

The collection of Sadakazu YUMOTO, founder of the renowned Japanese style restaurant Kicho, is exhibited. The valuable collection includes tea ceremony utensils such as teabowls and vases. Kicho is known for its kaiseki style which is a light Japanese style meal served before a tea ceremony. The collection is exhibited by rotation four times a year.

The MANNO MUSEUM of ART was founded in 1988 and exhibits oriental art works, such as paintings, brush paintings, lacquer ware, pottery and porcelain, dyeing, metal works, swords and armors, tea ceremony articles. There are three of National Properties, thirty-seven of Important Cultural Properties, and twenty-two of Important Artistic Properties among the collection are housed.

The Okuuchi Museum was founded in 1971 and exhibits ancient oriental ceramics from Persia, Korea, China as well as modern Japanese pottery by KITAOJI Rosanjin, HAMADA Shoji and others. Ukiyo-e by Hokusai and Utamaro, and modern paintings from overseas are also housed.
