The Nagasaki Prefectural Art Museum was founded in 1965 to house fine arts from the region as well as from Spain. The collection includes Utsutsugawa-yaki, Hirado-yaki, paintings from Spain and archaeological literature.

The Sasebo City Art Museum was established in 1983 to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of Sasebo city. The collection includes 200,000 archaeological relics, 390 folk crafts and 200 pieces of pottery and porcelain. The collection also includes paintings and brush paintings.

The Huis Ten Bosch Museum was founded in 1985 and exhibits art works and literature related to trading between Holland and Japan. The Porcelain Museum is located at the same site and exhibits old Imari-yaki and Arita-yaki.

Chinese Historical Art Museum 10-36 Oura-machi, Nagasaki-city, Nagasaki Pref., 850-0918 095-824-4022
The Chinese Historical Art Museum was built in the Meiji period originally as a Chinese shrine and renovated into the museum in 1983. It's the only one of its kind in Japan and exhibits Chinese ancient copper wares and pottery and porcelain of the T'ang, Sung and Ming dynasties. A must for Chinese pottery fans.
