This Museum has been established at the heart of Shikobashi Cultural Center, sponcered by Bridgestone Corporation founder, Shojiro Ishibashi. It exhibits works produced by reginal artists such as Shigeru Aoki, Shigejiro Sakamoto, Harue Koga and others. Annex exhibits Japanese paintings, Pottery and Ceramics of Ishibashi Cllections. There are one of the treasure of country and three of the important cultural assets.

The Fukuoka Prefectural Museum was established in 1964 to exhibit local arts and crafts as well as modern arts. The collection includes Hakata weaving, regional pottery and porcelain and paintings.

The Fukuoka City Museum was established in 1979 to exhibit modern art from around the world. The permanent collection includes Western fine art, Japanese modern art, (such as tea ceremony articles from the MATSUNAGA collection), images of Buddha and contemporary Asian art works. One notable piece is an overglazed enamel tea container by NINSEI. Special events are held several times a year.

The Tanakamaru Collection was founded in 1973 to exhibit the private collection of TANAKAMARU Zenhachi, founder of the Tamaya department store chain. I think his name is Zenpachi The collection includes ancient Karatsu-yaki, Agano-yaki, Takatori-yaki, Yatsushiro-yaki, Satsuma-yaki, Utsutsugawa-yaki, Nabeshima-yaki, KAKIEMON, Imari-yaki and Hirado-yaki. About 40 pieces from among the 500 collection are usually on display. The exhibition changes several times a year. The collection was shown in the USA at the Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Seattle Art Museum in 1980.

The Koishibara Pottery Museum was founded in 1961 to preserve and exhibit Koishibara-yaki. The collection includes ancient Koishibara-yaki, ancient pottery of the Kyushu region, as well as traditional Kyushu arts and crafts.
