Located in the prefectural park Gunma no Mori, the museum was designed to accentuate the the beauty of the collection through the usage of natural lighting and well-designed ceilings and spaces. The collection includes Chagall, Picasso, Renoir and regional artist's dyeing. Arts and crafts of ancient to modern times are also exhibited.

The Historical Museum, Gunma was established in 1979 in order to preserve and exhibit archaeological works, folklore works, historical works. nature related works as well as art of Gunma prefecture. The collection includes, works and literature of Jomon, Yayoi, Heian, Kamakura, Muromachi, Momoyama, Edo, Meiji, Taisyo and contemporary age. Earthenware, paintings, sculpture, weaving as well as everyday life house hold are mainly exhibited. Special events are held three times a year.

The AIKAWA Archaeological Museum 6-10 Sanko-cho, Isesaki-city, Gunma Pref., 372-0046 0270-25-0082
The AIKAWA Archaeological Museum was established in 1950 to house the collection of AIKAWA Yukiga. The collection includes 5,000 works of Jomon period and archaeological literature, as well as four pieces of Haniwa which are designated as the Important Cultural Properties. There is also tea room, which was built in 1860 in the same site.

The KANRA Ancient Art Museum was established in 1997 to exhibit the works which were found at the ruins in the region. The collection includes earthenware, Sue-style ware stone ware of Jomon, Yayoi, and Tomb age.

The Chigira Folklore Museum was established in 1987 to exhibit the collection of CHIGIRA Family, a wealthy family in the region. The collection includes modern art works, such as gold painted lacquer ware, ancient Bizen-yaki, ancient Kutani-yaki, ancient Imari-yaki, Ukiyo-e by UTAMARO, brush paintings by MATSUO Basho, TAKAHAMA Kyoshi, KATSU Kaishu, as well as other various literature. Special event is held regularly. The architecture of this museum was originally built in Edo period.
